Viewing TOC Marks

Table of contents markings are visible if you turn on the display of bookmarks, but their corresponding field codes can be distracting and confusing if you turn on the display of hidden text, as shown below. You can toggle bookmarks (including TOC marks) on and off without turning on hidden text by clicking Snapnumbers, Show Marks (Word 2007) or Snapnumbers, TOC, Show/Hide Marks (pre-2007).
